How to play Minesweeper

  1. Reveal cells. Click or tap a cell to open it. A number counts the mines in the eight cells around it; a mine ends the round.
  2. Flag suspects. Right-click on desktop, long-press on mobile, or switch on the flag button beside the smiley to mark where mines must be. Flags block accidental clicks.
  3. Chord on numbers. When a number already has that many flags around it, click the number to open all its other neighbors at once.
  4. Clear every safe cell. Reveal all non-mine cells to win - flags are bookkeeping, not the goal.

Every board is fully solvable by logic from the marked starting cell - no guessing needed. Stuck anyway? The Hint button marks a certainly safe cell in green, up to 10 per board. Arrow keys move, Space reveals, F flags, H hints.

Today's Minesweeper challenge

Clear the minefield without setting off a mine. Every revealed number counts the mines hiding in the eight cells around it; flag the cells you are sure about and open the rest. Everyone playing on the same local date gets the same board and the same marked starting cell, and a fresh board arrives at local midnight.

Daily boards are never luck: each one is verified offline to be completable by pure deduction from the marked start, so a lost round always traces back to a misread, not a coin flip. Your reveals, flags and timer survive a refresh, and finishing keeps your calendar streak alive - a mine ends it.

Frequently asked questions

Is the daily Minesweeper board the same for everyone?

Yes. Everyone playing on the same local date receives the same fixed board, difficulty and marked starting cell, so times are directly comparable.

Can the daily board be solved without guessing?

Yes - from the marked starting cell. Every board is checked offline by a solver and published only when pure deduction from that opening reveal clears the whole field. If you open elsewhere first, the guarantee no longer holds.

What if my first click hits a mine?

The round ends, honestly. Daily boards are fixed and shared by everyone, so mines are never moved to save a first click. The marked starting cell is always safe and always opens a clear area - start there.

Is this the official Minesweeper?

No. This is an independent, fan-made game in the classic desktop minesweeper style, not affiliated with or endorsed by Microsoft or any other publisher.
