Canadian English combines conventions that do not fit neatly into either the US or UK list. It commonly uses COLOUR, CENTRE, FIBRE, LABOUR and DEFENCE, while retaining forms such as ORGANIZE, REALIZE, ANALYZE, ALUMINUM and PROGRAM. That mixture comes from ESDB's dedicated Canadian spelling code, not from merging two finished word lists.

Familiar Canadian vocabulary

The regional answer pool also includes a small reviewed set of familiar words such as TOQUE, TUQUE, LOONIE, TOONIE, POUTINE, MOUNTIE, PARKADE, INUKSUK and WASHROOM. Larger and more obscure dictionary levels are not imported wholesale; local additions are reviewed before they can become hidden answers.
