Nerdle Daily
One shared equation each day. Six guesses, one streak.
What is Nerdle Daily?
Nerdle Daily is the shared-ritual version of the math equation game: every player in the world gets the same hidden eight-tile calculation for the day, and everyone has six guesses to reconstruct it. Each guess must be a true equation; the tiles answer back in green (right character, right spot), yellow (in the equation, elsewhere) and grey (not in it at all). Because the answer is shared, finished grids are comparable — the same colored fingerprint your friends post, earned against the same equation.
A new equation is drawn at midnight local time, and consecutive solved days build a calendar streak alongside your win history. Want to warm up first? Nerdle Unlimited plays by identical rules with no daily limit.
How the daily works
- Open a true eight-character equation — 23+44=67 or 58÷29=02 both probe six characters at once.
- Chase the "=" sign first; its position fixes the shape of the whole answer.
- Use the colors and order of operations (× ÷ before + −) to narrow the arithmetic.
- Solve within six rows to keep your streak; the countdown then points at tomorrow's equation.
- Share the spoiler-free grid and compare routes with friends.
Guessing stays flexible: leading zeros are legal (9×003=27), either side of the equals sign may hold an expression, and exact fractions like 9÷2×4=18 are accepted. Answers themselves are always clean — no leading zeros, a plain number on the right.
Streaks and statistics
The statistics panel above the board records days played, win rate, guess distribution and both streaks. A daily counts toward your streak only when you solve it on its own calendar day, so the pressure is gentle but real. Results live in this browser and ride the site-wide backup and Google Drive sync in Settings, together with every other game's records.
Frequently asked questions
When does a new daily equation arrive?
At midnight local time. The countdown under a finished board shows exactly how long until the next equation, and everyone playing on the same calendar day faces the same answer.
Can I replay today's equation?
Each daily counts once — your finished board stays on screen until midnight. For endless practice with the same rules, Nerdle Unlimited deals a fresh equation on demand.
Does sharing spoil the answer?
No. The share text contains the date, your score and the colored-tile grid — never the digits or operators themselves.
