Star Battle Unlimited
Find a place for every star, then explore another sky.
Stars cannot touch, even diagonally.
Tap: cycle · Arrows: move · S: star · X: exclude · Backspace: erase · Ctrl/⌘ Z: undo · H: hint
Star Battle strategy
Start with the smallest regions. List the ways their stars can fit without touching, then compare those positions with the crossing rows and columns. Even before a star is fixed, every possible position might rule out the same neighboring cell.
Use the Star and Exclude modes on touch screens. On a keyboard, arrows move between cells, S places a star, X excludes a cell, Backspace erases and Control-Z or Command-Z undoes. Reset keeps the puzzle, timer and hint count; New puzzle starts a fresh board.
Frequently asked questions
What are the rules of Star Battle?
Place exactly the required number of stars in each row, column and outlined region. Stars must never touch, including diagonally.
What do the difficulty choices mean?
Intro uses 6×6 boards with one star per row, column and region. Advanced uses 10×10 boards with two stars in every group. Both have one verified solution.
Do I have to mark every empty cell?
No. Crosses are optional notes. You win as soon as the stars satisfy every row, column, region and no-touch rule.
Can I share this exact puzzle?
Yes. The challenge panel and the address bar carry a fixed puzzle code. The same code opens the same star count and region layout.
How do hints work?
A hint highlights the next forced mark and explains how the remaining star arrangements constrain that cell. If a mark is wrong, it first asks you to reconsider that cell.
